Crisis support
If you need help right now
If you are in immediate danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis line now.
About these numbers
Tele-MANAS and KIRAN are both free, national helplines, answered by trained listeners, every hour of every day. You don't need to explain why you're calling before you're ready to, and you don't need to be at the point of crisis to use them — feeling like you might be heading there is reason enough.
If you're supporting someone else
These lines are also there for you if you're worried about a friend or family member and aren't sure what to do. You can call to talk through what you're seeing and what to say next, even if the person you're concerned about isn't with you.
After you call
You'll be speaking with a real person, not an automated system. You don't need the right words to start — you can just start talking, and they'll help you from there. Nothing about the call requires you to have a plan already.
